Five members of the Albert Lea (Minnesota) wastewater treatment staff earned 2025 awards from the Minnesota Wastewater Operators Association Southeast Section: Dustin White, Class A Operator of the Year; Matthew Larson, Class B Operator of the Year; Parker Hanna, Class D Operator of the Year; Lane Ohl, Rookie Operator of the Year; and Travis Rauenhorst, Lab Operator of the Year.
The City of Winder and Environmental Social Governance Operations won Best Tasting Tap Water awards from the Georgia Section AWWA.
The Wellington (Florida) Water Treatment Facility and Wastewater Reclamation Facility has won 2024 Plant Operations Excellence awards for the Southeast Region from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
The Fort Wayne (Indiana) City Utilities Three Rivers Filtration Plant earned a 25-Year Directors Award from the Partnership for Safe Water.
Jerry Riley, People Services lead operator at the Maryville water plant, was named the Small Water Plant Operator of the Year by the Missouri Water Environment Association.
The Henry County (Georgia) Water Authority dedicated its largest reservoir, the Tussahaw Reservoir, in honor of Lindy Farmer, former general manager.
The Marquette County (Michigan) Solid Waste Management Authority received an Excellence in Environmental and Public Health Protection Award from the U.S. EPA for its wastewater treatment plant.
Joel Jones, recently retired CEO of Renewable Water Resources, received South Carolina’s top civilian honor, The Order of the Palmetto for a lifetime of extraordinary achievement and service to the state.
Erin Keys was named utilities director in Columbia, Missouri after serving as interim director after the retirement of Dave Sorrell in March.
Silicon Valley (California) Clean Water hired Matthew Zucca, formerly Palo Alto assistant director of utilities, as general manager.
