Springdale (Arkansas) Water Utilities received a 2024 Pisces Award from the U.S. EPA for its work in cleaning up the former Bethel Heights wastewater treatment system.


The Eastern Idaho Regional Sewer District was named 2025 Wastewater System of the Year by the Idaho Rural Water Association.


Traverse City (Michigan) Department of Municipal Utilities was recognized as the 2025 National Project of the Year in the environment category from the American Public Works Association for its Sanitary Sewer Relocation Project.


The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago dedicated the disinfection facility in Skokie in honor of long-time clerk. It is now named The Mariyana T. Spyropoulos Disinfection Facility at the O’Brien Water Reclamation Plant.


Jared Jones, public works director for Lyons, Kansas, received the 2025 Wastewater Operator Award of Excellence from Kansas Municipal Utilities.


The Treasure Island Water Resource Recovery Facility in San Francisco, now under construction, received an Envision Platinum Award, the highest level of recognition, from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.


The water and wastewater treatment facilities in Carrollton received the Georgia Association of Water Professionals 2024 Platinum Award for seven years of perfect operations at the water plant and 18 years of perfect operations at the wastewater facility. 


PERC Water, a developer of water treatment infrastructure, earned the Arizona Water Association Wastewater Project of the Year for its role in the Sarival Water Reclamation Facility project.


Sanitation District No. 1, northern Kentucky’s regional wastewater and stormwater utility, received the 2025 Environmental Stewardship Award from the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.


The Rivanna Water and Sewer Authority Crozet Water Treatment Plant, North Rivanna Water Treatment Plant and Scottsville Water Treatment Plant received Gold Awards from the Virginia Department of Health, Office of Drinking Water. The South Rivanna Water Treatment Plant and Observatory Water Treatment Plant received Silver Awards.


The Frank C. Amerson Jr. Water Treatment Plant received the Platinum Award from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals for the seventh year in a row.


The Hillsborough Water Treatment Plant received the North Carolina Area Wide Optimization Award for 2024.


The Hicksville Water District received a Gold Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York for installation of two state-of-the-art advanced oxidation process treatment systems and four granular activated carbon filters at the district’s Plant 8.


The Altavista Water Treatment Plant received a 2024 Gold Performance Award from the Virginia Office of Drinking Water.


The El Dorado Water Treatment Plant staff received the 2025 Best Tasting Water in Kansas Award from the Kansas Rural Water Association.


Richard “Craig” Ellis, water plant operator for Public Wholesale Water Supply District No. 12, received special recognition for his years of service to the water system from the Kansas Rural Water Association.


Des Moines (Iowa) Water Works named Amy Kahler as its first woman CEO.
