The Klamath Falls (Oregon) Water Division won the Best Tasting Water contest at the quarterly AWWA subsection meeting. The city also was the Meter System of the Year at the Ferguson Utility Solutions Expo.


Clearwater Public Utilities was recognized as the Wastewater Collection System of the Year by the Florida Water Environment Association for utilities serving communities of 20,000 to 75,000 accounts. 


Russell City Manager Jon Quinday received the 2024 Edgar P. Schowalter Award from Kansas Municipal Utilities for outstanding contributions to the municipal utility industry.


East Valley Water District received the Clair A. Hill Water Agency Award for Excellence from the Association of California Water Agencies for its Sterling Natural Resource Center.


The Upper Trinity Regional Water District received several awards from the Water Environment Association of Texas. The Peninsula Water Reclamation Plant and the Doe Branch Water Reclamation Plant were recognized as Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plants of the Year. The district also received the WEAT Exemplary Employer Award and The Watermark Award for Communications Excellence.


Family, friends and city representatives christened the Doug Prinz Memorial Wastewater Treatment Plant in Elgin, Texas, in honor of a late dedicated social worker. The facility will position the city to handle its rapid growth.


Engineers from Veolia Water, which operates the Columbia Water Treatment Plant in Boise, Idaho, received an Excellence in Engineering Award from the AWWA.


The Lake Monticello Water Treatment Facility owned by Aqua Virginia, an Essential Utilities company, received the 2023 Silver Water Treatment Plant Performance Award for Excellence in Filtration and Backwash from the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water for the 19th consecutive year.


Diana VanBruggen, water production superintendent and operator of record in Russell, received the 2024 Kansas Municipal Utilities Water Operator Award of Excellence.   


Winning a vote against other Georgia counties, the Cornish Creek Water Treatment Plant in Newton County was recognized for delivering the state’s best-tasting water by the Georgia Association of Water Professionals.


The Santa Cruz (California) Water Department promoted longtime department team member Isidro Rivera to deputy director and engineering manager.
