Researchers at Colorado State University recently conducted a study demonstrating the potential benefits of transitioning to green wastewater treatment methods in the United States. Published in Nature Communications Earth and Environment, the study indicates that embracing carbon-financed green infrastructure could lead to savings of $15.6 billion and a reduction of nearly 30 million tons of CO2-equivalent emissions over 40 years.
Led by Braden Limb, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Systems Engineering at Colorado State University, the research explores the economic tradeoffs associated with adopting green technology solutions for wastewater treatment. Drawing on data from over 22,000 facilities, the study
