Darwin “Joe” Dame, wastewater collections operator for the city of Watertown, received the Price-Rees Award from the South Dakota Water and Wastewater Association for association membership and long service to the water and wastewater profession in the state.
The City of New Albin was named a 2025 All-Star Community by the Iowa League of Cities for its Algaewheel technology, which uses biological processes to clean wastewater.
The Jimmy Smith Wastewater Treatment Plant in the town of Boone, North Carolina, received a Gold Peak Performance Award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies.
The Greensburg Wastewater Treatment Plant received the Biosolids Award from the Indiana Water Environment Association for leadership in cost-effective, environmentally sound, and publicly-supported biosolids reuse and management.
Athens (Tennessee) Utilities’ North Mouse Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant received an Operational Excellence Award for the 29th consecutive year from the Kentucky-Tennessee Water Environment Association. The Oostanaula Wastewater Treatment Plant received its 20th consecutive award from different award categories.
Arlington Water Utilities received the Outstanding Public Drinking Water System Award and the Outstanding Cross Connection Control Program Award from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The Nancy Wright Regional Water Reclamation Facility at the Mission Springs Water District in Hot Springs, California, received a 2025 Project of Merit Award in the Drainage, Water and Wastewater category from the Coachella Valley Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
The Middleborough (Massachusetts) Water Department was named the 2025 Utility of the Year by the New England Water Works Association.
The Clinton Water Treatment Plant in Lawrence received the Best Tasting Tap Water designation from the Kansas Section AWWA and the Kansas Water Environment Association.
The towns of Jaffrey and Peterborough, New Hampshire, opened the Rodney Bartlett Water Treatment Facility at Cold Stone Springs.
Tom Witherspoon, director of Johnson City (Tennessee) Water and Sewer Services, has retired in November.
