Greg Wilson, chief wastewater operator for Carrollton Utilities, received the Golden Manhole Award at the Kentucky and Tennessee Water Professional Conference.
Stanwood received an Outstanding Performance Award from the Washington Department of Ecology for excellent permit compliance.
The City of Beatrice received the 2024 Scott Wilber Award from the Nebraska Water Environment Association for the outstanding work of its Water Pollution Control Department.
Tom Swarthout, a trustee with the North Shore Water Reclamation District, received a Public Officials Award from the Illinois Association of Wastewater Agencies.
The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District Deer Creek Sanitary Tunnel and Pump Station was named 2024 Project of the Year by the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Kevin Vilac of the City of Merritt was recognized as 2024 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator of the Year by Water Summit Canada.
Kevin Alexander was named deputy general manager of the Inland Empire Utilities Agency in Chino, California. He succeeded Christiana Daisy, who retired.
Hamilton County received the County Achievement Award from the Association of Indiana Counties for its three-year Water Availability Study, aimed at helping to identify effective conservation practices and avoid a groundwater supply crisis.
Fort Wayne City Utilities received Best Tasting Water in Indiana award from the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water. It was the utility’s third consecutive win and its fourth in six years.
The City of Guthrie officially opened its new wastewater treatment plant, funded by a $20 million loan from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund. It includes a sequencing batch reactor, high-capacity lift station, and enhanced solids management and disinfection.
The Appleton Water Utility won the 2024 Wisconsin Tap Water Taste Test conducted by the Wisconsin AWWA Section.
Cody Dill, public works director in Rawlins, received the 2024 George Michael Award for professional excellence from the Wyoming Water Quality and Pollution Control Association.
