City of Fresno
Project: New water treatment plant
Details: Part of a $400 million project to boost Fresno's water supply. Water supply will move from wells to river water, which will take stress off underground water supply. Largest public works project in Fresno's history.
Status: Construction underway. Groundbreaking ceremony held.
Cost: $200 million for surface water treatment plant
Completion: Two years
Louisiana
Town of Ferriday
Project: New water treatment facility
Status: Plant unveiled, Feb. 25. Facility expected to go online within a couple of months.
Details: New plant will eliminate need to adjust treatment processes based on water conditions in the Mississippi River.
Cost: $6.7 million
Maryland
Washington County
Project: Upgrades to Conococheague Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Details: Project focused on nutrient removal. Plant to use Evoqua’s BioMag system.
Cost: Nearly $5 million
Companies: Evoqua and Ovivo
Completion: Spring 2018
Missouri
City of Kirksville
Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: 12 mgd peak flow. Project will include a new pump station, headworks and clarifier. Current plant will be used for lab work and storage.
Status: Groundbreaking, March 2
Cost: $18 million
Completion: 18 months
Contractor: HDR Engineering, Inc.
New Hampshire
City of Portsmouth
Project: Upgrade of Peirce Island wastewater treatment plant
Details: Most expensive project in city's history. The upgrades are part of a deal with the EPA to reduce nitrogen discharge.
Status: Bonds approved. Construction to begin July 2016.
Cost: $83.8 million
Completion: 51 months
New York
Lake George
Project: Survey work for new wastewater treatment plant
Details: Village is under a consent decree, and is preparing for a new treatment plant to be completed within three years.
Status: Received approval of preliminary engineering report.
Cost: $20,000 grant for survey services. Final project could cost $15 million.
Ohio
Marion
Project: Upgrade to water treatment plant
Details: Construction of new pre-sedimentation basin at the Marion Water Treatment plant, which will replace a basin constructed in 1914.
Status: Groundbreaking, Feb. 26
Cost: $5 million
Texas
San Benito
Project: Upgrades to water treatment plants
Details: To include upgrades to high-service pumps, backwash pumps and new filters.
Status: Funds approved by city commissioners
Cost: $350,000
Wichita Falls
Project: Water reuse pipeline and River Road Wastewater Plant upgrades.
Details: Pipeline will connect Wichita Falls and Lake Arrowhead. Plant improvements will focus on nutrient removal.
Status: Contract awarded. Constructions started in February 2016.
Cost: $16 million
