The Los Angeles Bureau of Sanitation recently cut the ribbon on a new education center at its 300 mgd Hyperion Wastewater Treatment plant. The three-story, 20,000-square-foot Los Angeles Environmental Learning Center has interactive exhibits, video game experiences and more, aimed mainly at kids in grades 4-8. It includes an auditorium that seats 87. Visitors learn how wastewater is recycled and about watershed protection and sustainability in general.According to The Daily Breeze newspaper, “One exhibit amounts to a group video game in which teams line up on either side of a table-shaped screen with recyclable items traveling down a virtual conveyor
