Processing wastewater solids is a critical part of operating a successful wastewater treatment plant. Digesters, sludge pumps, centrifuges, handling and driers all require operator maintenance time to keep running at peak capacity. Moving parts, like sludge pumps and conveyors, are time-consuming to maintain and expensive to replace.

The quality of the solids going into various sludge treatment processes is a big determinant of the frequency of your maintenance on them. Things like rags, dental floss, wipes and other inorganic materials that bypass your screening or grit removal systems remain what they are when they enter the sludge treatment process and stay that way until they leave it. These materials reduce treatment capacity, get caught up on moving parts and conveyance and handling equipment, and cause significant damage to expensive sludge pumps.

The Hydro-Sludge Screen from Hydro International targets these nuisance materials and removes them from primary, secondary or combined solids holding areas before they encounter your downstream sludge treatment processes. The in-line, enclosed screening and compaction system prevents excessive odor issues in a single unit process and removes screening materials that otherwise would have ended up in other processes.
