Editor's Note: Innovation was a big theme at WEFTEC 2014. We'll be featuring a few of the new and better technologies found in the exhibit hall at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Watch each day for the Innovation logo to learn more about new products displayed at the clean-water industry’s flagship exhibition and conference.

ANDRITZ Separation presented the Quantum low-profile belt press, designed to simplify operation and maintenance. The low-profile design (60 inches overall height) eliminates the cost of platforms. The gravity zone is at a convenient height for operation and maintenance. Modular design allows a flexible number of rolls with no alteration of the frame. The addition of a third belt gravity zone enables feed material with low solids to dewater easily and effectively. The company’s SmarTrax electro-mechanical system uses advanced PLC controls to provide the specified belt tensioning and tracking.
