Austin Water (Texas) received a 2025 Platinum Peak Performance Award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. The utility also received a Sustainable Water Utility Management Award from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
Kewaskum Wastewater Treatment Facility team member Kennedy Arbuckle was named the Wisconsin Wastewater Operators Association Newcomer of the Year.
The Wellington (Florida) Reclamation Facility received a Utility of the Future Today recognition for excellence in nutrient reduction and materials recovery. The award program is a partnership of WEF, NACWA, the Water Research Foundation and the WateReuse Association.
Johnston County Public Utilities earned the Area-Wide Optimization Program Award from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Division of Water Resources.
The Fayette County Water System received the Consumer Confidence Reports Gold Award from the Georgia Association of Water Professionals for commitments to public health and transparency.
Pedro J.J. Alvarez of Rice University, an expert in environmental nanotechnology and water sustainability, received the 2026 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Civil Engineering from The Franklin Institute. Alvarez is the George R. Brown Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and director of the Rice WaTER Institute.
Dr. Manny Teodoro, professor at the LaFollette School of Public Affairs at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, received the 2025 Donald R. Boyd Award from the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
