The Pine Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant in Calgary, in conjunction with CH2M Hill, received the 2009 Summit Award from the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.

Little Rock Wastewater received the 2009 Environmental Stewardship Award from the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality.

The Arkansas Water Environment Association announced the following awards:

• Orville L. McNees Jr., North Little Rock Wastewater Utility, Wastewater Outstanding Achievement for Population Greater Than 5,000.

• Leny Baker, Riviera Utilities of Arkansas, Wastewater Outstanding Achievement for Population Less Than 5,000.

• City of Mansfield-Western District, Southeast Water-North Central District, City of Rector-Northeast District, Riviera Utilities of Arkansas-Central District and City of Smackover-Southwest District, Wastewater Special System Recognition.

The Water Environment Association of Ontario presented the Arthur Sidney Bedell Award to Vincent Nazareth and the William D. Hatfield Award to Rick Niesink.
