The Water Environment Federation recently announced that it has received awards from the American Society of Association Executives for its Introducing Future Leaders to Opportunities in Water (InFLOW) program and its role in the “Brave Blue World” documentary film.

InFLOW and Brave Blue World were selected for ASAE Power of A Awards, which are presented annually. The InFLOW program was selected for a Power of A Gold Award and “Brave Blue World” was chosen for a Power of A Silver Award.

“We are tremendously proud of our InFLOW program, which introduces scholars from historically underrepresented ethnic and racial groups to the water sector, as well as our role in ‘Brave Blue World,’ a film that raises awareness about water sustainability,” says WEF President Lynn Broaddus. “WEF is grateful to ASAE for recognizing these important initiatives and WEF’s contributions as an association.”

ASAE’s Power of A (association) Awards recognize the association community’s valuable contributions on the local, national and global levels. The Power of A Awards reward the outstanding accomplishments of associations and industry professionals who work tirelessly to solve problems and strengthen lives, the workforce, the economy and the world.

“Congratulations for exemplifying the impact associations have on the industries and professions they represent, and on society at large,” says ASAE President and CEO Susan Robertson. “It’s always so incredibly satisfying to see associations going above and beyond their everyday mission to change the world. We’re very proud to spotlight these award-winning initiatives.”

The InFLOW program aims to enhance diversity and inclusion in the water workforce. This scholarship opportunity engages participants in WEF programs and events to solidify their interest in working in the water sector and increase probabilities for employment and long-term success working in water. Learn more at https://www.wef.org/inflow.

“Brave Blue World” is a feature-length documentary that examines how new technologies and innovations can create a sustainable water future. The film explores areas such as water reuse, nutrient recovery, energy generation and decentralized treatment. WEF was the first organization to commit to being a production partner and continues to use the film to raise public awareness about solutions to water challenges.
