REAL TECH’s Glover receives woman entrepreneur award


Jodi Glover, CEO and co-founder of REAL TECH Inc. was named the 2012 RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur of the Year for the TPH Sustainability Award by Women of Influence. The award recognizes Canada’s leading female entrepreneurs.

Flowserve chemical process pump wins innovation award


Flowserve Corp.’s Durco Mark 3 ISO chemical process pump won the 2012 Ringier Technology Innovation Award in the centrifugal pumps category. The award recognizes those who have introduced and developed a new idea, methodology, product or technology for manufacturing production efficiency, cost-effectiveness or user convenience that results in energy savings in the pump and valve industry.

Desalitech establishes US headquarters


Desalitech Ltd., provider of advanced water treatment solutions, established U.S. headquarters in Massachusetts. The company will use the location as a base for expanding operations, including purification, water reuse and wastewater purification.

WILO appoints accounts managers


WILO USA appointed Cliff Alford key offshore accounts manager and promoted John Seawright to key accounts manager. Suzy Wooten replaces Seawright as western regional sales manager.

Pipe Restoration Technologies receives patent


Pipe Restoration Technologies received a patent for enhancements to its ePIPE technology that provides for an internal barrier coating and leak sealing process applied while the pipe remains in place.

Iwaki America expands corporate headquarters


Iwaki America expanded its corporate headquarters in Holliston, Mass., by approximately 25 percent, adding space previously occupied by Terracon Corp., a related business spun off by Iwaki in 2008. Terracon relocated to nearby Franklin, Mass. Iwaki’s operations include the design, manufacture and distribution of its water treatment controllers and pumps.

American Water CFO retires


American Water Works Company Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Ellen Wolf will retire during the first half of 2013, following the appointment of her successor and transition. Wolf served as CFO for 12 years.

Koch hires commercial director, water and wastewater


Koch Membrane Systems hired Bill Musiak as commercial director, water and wastewater for North America. He will focus on growing the customer base and provide leadership for the company’s water and wastewater sales staff in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Bio-Microbics Blodig receives STEP Award


Allison Blodig, director of regulatory affairs for Bio-Microbics, was among 122 women recognized for excellence in manufacturing by the Manufacturing Institute, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, University of Phoenix and Deloitte with receipt of the Women in Manufacturing STEP (science, technology, engineering and production) Award. A registered environmental health specialist, Blodig has 20 years experience in regulatory affairs and 15 in the water and wastewater treatment industry.

Power Zone becomes employee-owned


Power Zone Equipment of Center, Colo., became an employee-owned company with its sale to the Power Zone Equipment Employee Stock Ownership Plan. The pump distributor was founded by Don and Trevor Toews in 1999.

SJE-Rhombus hires engineered solutions sales manager


SJE-Rhombus named Don Weirens engineered solutions sales manager. He has 20 years experience in the sales and marketing of water and wastewater controls, business development and manufacturing.

CH2M HILL’s Schwing named Utah Engineer of the Year


Jim Schwing, CH2M HILL vice president, was named 2012 Engineer of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Utah. Selections are based on technical excellence, work on critical water infrastructure projects in Utah, and commitment to public and community service.

Alfa Laval acquires Air Cooled Exchangers


Alfa Laval acquired Air Cooled Exchangers, manufacturer of air-cooled heat exchangers. Based in Broken Arrow, Okla., ACE was founded in 1964.
