Marco Island Water and Sewer Maintains Class 1 Reliability with RPPS 1000 Fine Screen

The Water and Sewer Department of Marco Island was designing a new headworks. The design’s determining factor was the type of screens the City would choose. After auditioning six of seven vendors for the job, the 16-person selection committee unanimously determined that HUBER would be the vendor to provide the 2mm screens it would employ to maintain its Class 1 reliability.

The selection committee determined that a 2 mm screen would give them their membrane bioreactors the best potential for remaining as rag and debris free as possible and would maintain their Class 1 reliability or better. HUBER’s RPPS 1000 fine screen allows for operating three channels instead of two. This makes it possible for the City to maintain Class 1 reliability even during peak flows.
