The Suspended Solids Density Meter from Markland Specialty Engineering provides real-time knowledge of sludge/silt/RAS concentrations in pipes, tanks and clarifiers. It allows users to program underflow pumps to shut off before biosolids density becomes too thin and optimize dosing for preferred feed density and enhanced dewatering. The ultrasonic sensor on the inline pipe spool-piece is non-intrusive. A throw-in style is also available, and can be used as a single point interface level detector, allowing operators to program de-sludge pumps to turn on when the rising sludge blanket contacts it.
