Mooresville BT Dryer w300 180119 133944

The Mooresville (North Carolina) Wastewater Treatment Plant had been looking at sludge dryers for quite some time. The plant compared the performance of many types of dryers and eventually decided on Huber Technology's BT belt dryer. Because it operates at much lower temperatures than other dryer types, the BT belt dryer eliminates the potential for burn injuries and explosion and reduces consumption of natural gas. Once the BT belt dryer was installed, Mooresville reduced its haul off runs from two per month to two per year. The plant also reduced the cost of its sludge handling process by $200,000.

"There are so many ways that the Huber BT belt dryer has made our sludge handling process safe," says Bill Bourke, Mooresville's biosolids coordinator.
