Updates and Optimization Help This Kentucky Plant Earn Recognition

Installing new equipment and optimizing its SCADA system allows this crew to save money on energy costs and save unnecessary wear and tear on critical components

Making the most of technology has helped Jacob Billingsley, superintendent of the Glasgow (Kentucky) Wastewater Treatment Plant, run an efficient facility that won an Outstanding Plant of the Year award in 2017 from the Central Kentucky Water and Wastewater Operators Association. In addition to installing new variable frequency drives and dissolved oxygen meters, the crew optimized its SCADA system to save energy costs during non-peak hours.
