IDEX adds Trebor to Warren Rupp platform, names platform leaders

IDEX Corp. added Trebor International to the Warren Rupp platform. Located in Salt Lake City, Utah, Trebor manufactures ultrapure chemical pumps and liquid heating systems. IDEX has also promoted John Carter to president of the Warren Rupp platform and Fenton Challgren to president of the Chemical, Food and Process platform.

Dow plans China treatment facility

Dow Chemical Co. plans to build DOW FILMTEC, a reverse osmosis membrane plant, at the company's site in Huzhou, China. The facility would deliver technology for water desalination and wastewater reuse for potable, non-potable and industrial water in China. The facility will be online in 2013.

Badger Meter, Telog form partnership

Badger Meter entered into a strategic partnership with Telog Instruments, developer and manufacturer of remote data acquisition systems for water and energy utilities. The agreement allows Badger Meter to sell water distribution system monitoring products from Telog as value-added tools to complement its Advanced Metering Analytics in North America.

Downstream Defender receives TSS treatment certification

Downstream Defender by Hydro International has been certified for the use of TSS treatment in online applications by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nonpoint Control. In an online configuration, Downstream Defender treats all runoff flowing through the drainage line, eliminating the need for additional bypass or junction manholes required in offline configurations.

Pump Solutions Group launches websites

Pump Solutions Group launched its new website, www.psgdover.com. The site is part of PSG's "One Company-One Customer" brand image. The initiative demonstrates PSG's commitment to one common voice and image for all of its pump brands. The company also launched new sites for Blackmer (www.blackmer.com), Neptune (www.neptune1.com), Wilden (www.wildenpump.com), EnviroGear (www.envirogearpump.com), Griswold Pump Co. (www.griswoldpump.com) and Mouvex (www.mouvex.com) as well as a new corporate brochure.

Parkson consolidates Middle East operations

Parkson Corp. is consolidating the operation of its Middle East group into the international division. Parkson's international group in Fort Lauderdale will take over duties of the Dubai office. The shift allows for greater collaboration in the Middle East and elsewhere. The new unit will be led by Michael Lamminen.

Gardner Denver Nash opens headquarters, operations facility

Gardner Denver Nash opened a new headquarters and North American operations facility in Pennsylvania. The 100,500-square-foot building in Bentleyville, south of Pittsburgh, relocates the headquarters from Trumbull, Conn., and replaces the Nash manufacturing facility in Elizabeth, Pa. The Nash distribution center in St. Peters, Mo., also will relocate to Bentleyville.

Severn Trent names regional sales manager

Severn Trent Services named Gary M. Lohse regional sales manager for water treatment technologies. He is responsible for the sales of all disinfection, instrumentation, engineered products and packaged membrane systems from eastern Canada to northern Virginia and west to the Dakotas.

Calgon Carbon names president, chairman of the board

Calgon Carbon named Randall S. Dearth president and chief executive officer, replacing John S. Stanik, who retired. The company also named Seth E. Schofield independent chairman of the board.

WILO USA receives equity investment, appoints director

WILO USA received an equity investment of $61.6 million from its parent company, German-based WILO SE, in a combined effort to increase visibility and drive growth in the U.S. market. The pump manufacturer also named Chris Perkins director of operations at its manufacturing facility in Thomasville, Ga.

DeZURIK acquires HILTON Valve

DeZURIK Inc., Sartell, Minn., acquired HILTON Valve, including all products and production capability. HILTON operations will continue as a stand-alone business in Redmond, Wash., including engineering and manufacturing. HILTON produces fabricated large diameter and custom knife valves.

GSE Environmental featured on World's Greatest!...

GSE Environmental, manufacturer and provider of geosynthetic lining products and services, was featured on the World's Greatest!...television show on the ION Television Network. The show focuses on how the company provides environmental solutions to its customers. The episode aired in June and can be viewed at www.gseworld.com.

Northern Lake Service receives EPA approval for water testing

Northern Lake Service received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for all analytical methods required under the UCMR3 drinking water testing program. The program is mandated as part of EPA's Safe Drinking Water Act for all public water systems serving more than 10,000 people.

DSI offers webinar on benefits of eddy current drives

Drives manufacturer DSI Dynamatic will hold a webinar, "True Pump System Efficiency: The major cost advantages of electromagnetic eddy current drives," on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. Eastern time.

Presenters will be company representatives Anthony Anniballi and Gary Patterson. The webinar will demonstrate the technology comparisons and overall cost advantages of electromagnetic eddy current drives versus variable-frequency drives (VFDs), notably for medium-voltage water and wastewater adjustable-speed pumping and centrifugal blower applications. Xylem dedicates Campbell Education Center

Xylem dedicated the Campbell Education Center in June. The center honors the memory of the late Mark Campbell, an employee of the company for 20 year who passed away last year at age 54. The updated training center in Seneca Falls, N.Y., includes new mobile demonstration units, network and Wi-Fi equipment, LED TVs and configurable work stations.

Fibergrate offers water, wastewater product brochure

Fibergrate offers a FRP product brochure for the water and wastewater industries. The brochure can be accessed at www.fibergrate.com. It includes information on scum baffles, troughs, launder covers, density current baffles, baffle walls and weir plates.

FCI's ST100 Series receives HART certification

The ST100 Series thermal mass air/gas flowmeter from Fluid Components International received full certification from the HART Foundation for its hardware and DD files, indicating full compliance with the HART Communication Protocol.

Kaeser opens factory-direct facilities, names manager

Kaeser Compressors Inc. opened two new, factory-direct facilities. The branch offices in Wisconsin and Minnesota supply and support the company's product offerings. Matt McCorkle is manager of the new locations.

Cummins supplies Tier 4 engines for Doosan generators

Doosan Infracore Portable Power selected Cummins Power Generation to provide diesel engines for its line of portable generators. The engines will enable Doosan to comply with the Tier 4 emission regulations of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Red Valve offers product catalog

Red Valve's 28-page condensed catalog includes the latest information on its quality pinch valves, Tideflex check valves, non-clogging air diffusers, Redflex expansion joints and other flow control products. The catalog includes product dimensions and applications.

Aquatech awarded contract for zero liquid discharge system

Aquatech, provider of water purification technology for industrial and infrastructure markets, was awarded a contract for a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) system, integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plant in Kemper County, Miss. Aquatech will design, fabricate, erect and start up a complete makeup water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities. The water and wastewater turnkey systems will include a 300 gpm makeup system, a 700 gpm mobile ion exchange demineralization system, a 400 gpm brine concentrator, 40 gpm forced circulation crystallizer and filter press.

WesTech acquires Microfloc and General Filter

WesTech Engineering reached an agreement with Siemens Industry to purchase the conventional water treatment business that includes Microfloc and General Filter. The agreement includes all active projects, associated assets and liabilities, inventory and associated patents and trademarks, as well as the facility in Ames, Iowa.

Medora to market SolarBee, GridBee brands

Medora Corp. will market its solar- and electric-powered circulation equipment under the SolarBee and GridBee brands. Medora will continue to be based in Dickinson, N.D.

UV Pure Technologies names directors of sales

UV Pure Technologies named Steve Buckley director of sales, engineered solutions for northern U.S. markets and Grant Thornley director of sales, engineered solutions for southern U.S. markets. Buckley is experienced in engineering, building and operating wastewater and water remediation applications. Thornley has 20 years experience in sales, marketing and business development in water treatment technology and UV disinfection technology.

Envirogen Technologies forms venture with Israeli company

Envirogen Technologies formed a venture with Israel-based Shikun & Binui Water. Shikun & Binui received exclusive rights to market portions of Envirogen's technology portfolio in Israel, including its bioreactors and biofilters. The companies will work together to develop projects in both industrial and municipal markets for drinking water treatment, groundwater treatment and remediation, wastewater treatment, industrial process improvement and vapor phase (air) treatment applications.

ABSMaterials, MIOX receive NSF research grants

ABSMaterials received a $489,173 Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant for research and development using Osorb bioretention soil amendments to capture and clean contaminants and nutrients common to agriculture, industry, retail and energy production, while MIOX Corp. received a $150,000 Phase I SBIR grant from the National Science Foundation to develop electromechanical methods that eliminate inorganic disinfection byproducts such as chlorate and perchlorate from water.

Fluid Imaging offers remote operation for analysis system

Fluid Imaging Technologies offers remote operation for its line of portable, benchtop, submersible and PV series FlowCAM imaging particle analysis system. Remote desktop operation enables lab managers, water/wastewater engineers, research scientists, process engineers and others to start running a sample, monitor its progress, adjust measurement parameters, and analyze images and data in real time.

Koch Membrane names commercial director

Koch Membrane Systems, a division of Koch Chemical Technology Group, named Jack Noble commercial director, water and wastewater, for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

ABB offers white paper on controlling water and wastewater flow

The ABB white paper Controlling Water and Wastewater Flow describes how low voltage AC drives can save up to 30 percent on energy costs and reduce harmonics, increase pump efficiencies, offer greater accuracy control and reduce maintenance.
