Thermal Mass Flow Meter Accuracy and Installation Best Practices

Proper process flow meter sizing and installation is required to maintain the manufacturers flowmeter accuracy specifications. This course will provide a review of accuracy vs. repeatability terminology including ideal vs. installed accuracy, piping straight run considerations including the different types of flow disturbances and their effects on accuracy, calibration of meters in air or actual gas, and the options available to eliminate accuracy issues in the process flow measurement.

Steve Craig is a senior member of the technical staff at Fluid Components International, a manufacturer of thermal dispersion flow, level and temperature instrumentation based in San Marcos, California. Craig graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology and he has been with FCI for more than 25 years in engineering and sales.
