Scott Mcrae, the project manager for the Lebanon (Tennessee) Gasification Initiative, offers viewers a detailed walkthrough of the city’s gasification process. The facility takes delivery of wood chips and mixes them with solids from a wastewater treatment plant, sending them on a 13-minute journey through a gasifier to create energy. “The environmentalists that have been out here are very excited that we’re taking something and creating electricity without creating negative emissions,” says Mcrae.
