Equipment and service providers presented their latest offering at the international wastewater and drinking water conference in Chicago Sept. 28 to Oct. 1 in Chicago. Here are a few of the highlights:
Franklin Electric offered the VR SpecPAK pre-engineered pressure boosting system using Franklin the company’s VR Series vertical multistage pumps, an integrated PLC controller, a user-friendly 7-inch HMI screen, and Cerus X-Drives to intelligently increase water pressure while maintaining a constant, reliable output. The pumps are constructed with all 316 stainless steel wetted components for durability, efficiency and performance in a variety of applications. Operation ranges up to 2,400 gpm/400 psi pressure boost. franklinwater.com
IPEX introduced the Vortex Flow Insert for odor and corrosion control. With no moving parts and requiring no maintenance, the device is designed to deliver effective performance with significant cost savings. A spiral flow design eliminates odorous and corrosive gases, using the wastewater’s own flow energy to suppress the turbulence that releases noxious gases. The spiral flow creates a downdraft that traps airborne gases and forces air into the sewage flow, increasing dissolved oxygen levels and oxidizing sulfides and other odorous compounds. Units are customized for applications from 0.3 mgd to 120 mgd. ipexna.com
Ovivo Water offered the ultraBLOX ultrafilter for meeting low total phosphorus limits. The system can reliably meet limits as low as 0.04mg/l reliably. With only coagulant pretreatment, it removes 99% of particulate phosphorus and converts soluble reactive phosphorus to a filterable form removed through 0.1µ pores. The unit also captures some soluble phosphorus by size exclusion and adsorption on coagulated pin floc. Polymer addition and flocculation are not required. The system also creates a physical barrier to pathogens. The modular silicon carbide ultrafilter can be retrofitted to existing tanks. municipal.ovivowater.com
Hach featured the EZ sc and EZ Series multifunction online analyzers with new and unique parameters and numerous measurement ranges. The instruments come in the same durable mainframe with a compact footprint and a common user interface. The EZ sc versions offer benefits that include simplified operation, user-friendly workflows, adaptability for future needs, predictive maintenance for high uptime, precision analytics for consistently accurate results, and a portfolio of service plans for peace of mind and protection of investment. hach.com
Pentair highlighted the Dee Molisher submersible solids handling pump, designed to pass otherwise problematic solids such as wipes, mopheads, diapers and feminine hygiene items. The pumps achieve high performance with low energy consumptions with a premium efficient motor design and high-head curves for reduced horsepower. A semi-open stainless steel impeller and cutter plate work together to deliver high clogging resistance. A double row of permanently lubricated bearings add durability. pentair.com
