Peristaltic pumps are extremely effective for pumping fluids containing trapped gases. Chemicals like chlorine and hydrogen peroxide tend to release absorbed or occluded gases when subjected to a vacuum or changes in temperatures. Diaphragm pump will often lose prime or vapor lock and fail in these situations. Peristaltic pumps are capable of pumping the bubbles right through the tube with no loss of prime and no vapor lock.
