Texas voters overwhelmingly approved Proposition Six, a constitutional amendment that creates a new $1 billion fund to support water infrastructure projects across the state.
The fund will be administered by the Texas Water Development Board and will focus on fixing aging pipes, expanding water sources and implementing water conservation measures. A portion of the fund will also be dedicated to developing new water supplies through desalination and treating produced water.
