The National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) recently issued a joint alert warning that foreign hackers are targeting critical infrastructure, including water/wastewater systems.
The agencies recommended that critical infrastructure operators take immediate action to secure their systems.
“Due to the increase in adversary capabilities and activity, the criticality to U.S. national security and way of life, and the vulnerability of operational technology systems, civilian infrastructure makes attractive targets for foreign powers attempting to do harm to U.S. interests or retaliate for perceived U.S. aggression,” the joint alert reads.The agencies recommend that utilities and other
