The Monster Wash Press was among offerings exhibited at WEFTEC by JWC Environmental. The device processes screenings to separate water and organics from the solids. The resulting dry, light and compact discharge reduces waste volume, saving treatment facilities time and money.

The press can be outfitted with the company’s Muffin Monster grinder to pre-condition the screenings and enable excellent compaction, further reducing screenings volume. Debris enters a pre-wash zone where it is soaked to begin the separation of organics from inorganics. An auger rotor then transports the soaked debris into the active wash zone of the press, where a paddle spiral rotor agitates the material, enhancing water penetration.

This effectively washes of soft organics from the solids. The soft organics pass through a screen and are returned to the plant headworks. The washed solids are moved to the dewatering and compaction zone, where water is removed and the solids are compacted. The discharge emerges as a dry, solid plug.

The segmented auger rotor brush allows in situ brush replacement. A removable top cover and drive end plate minimize the clearance space needed to remove the rotor and screen, which is

field replaceable. Multiple inspection ports enable easy examination of the equipment and its operation. www.jwce.com.
