Alyza IQ Analyzers for Ammonium and Orthophosphate Monitoring

YSI’s Alyza IQ is an online wet chemistry analyzer platform with analyzers for orthophosphate and ammonium measurements that include built-in sample delivery systems. Available in single- or dual-channel versions, Alyza IQ is designed to reduce analyzer maintenance while maximizing accuracy and reliability. 

Alyza IQ features automatic cleaning and calibrations, no-spill reagent containers, and uses only 5-15 microliters of reagent per measurement, resulting in fewer reagent changes over time. The analyzer platform has a fully automated temperature control system with a double-insulated cabinet to maximize performance regardless of whether it’s deployed indoors or outdoors.

Ability to network

With Alyza IQ, your analyzer is fully integrated into YSI’s IQ SensorNet continuous online water quality monitoring system, which provides a full suite of sensors for process monitoring and control. This gives operators the option to either run it as a stand-alone analyzer or tie it into a network with up to 20 additional sensors. Measuring ammonium and orthophosphate with the Alyza IQ connected to a network of other water quality sensors for monitoring parameters like total suspended solids, dissolved oxygen, nitrate and COD, for example, can provide valuable real-time input for control of biological and chemical nutrient-removal processes, improve efficiency of aeration and mixing, and optimize chemical usage. 

Alyza IQ NH4 continuously measures ammonium and can be used for measurements at relatively low concentrations with high accuracy. These analyzers are helpful tools to optimize ammonia-based aeration control strategies in wastewater treatment or for effluent monitoring to ensure compliance. 

Alyza IQ PO4 continuously measures orthophosphate at low concentrations down to 0.02mg/L PO4-P and uses only 5 microliters of reagent per measurement, allowing for reagent changes about every six months at common measuring intervals. This analyzer is designed for rugged applications like monitoring wastewater for control of chemical phosphorus removal and monitoring of biological phosphorus removal processes. In drinking water, Alyza IQ is suitable for monitoring or control of phosphate dosing to prevent corrosion in metal pipes.
