Back in 2012, in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, Anheuser-Busch stepped up to support disaster relief efforts by converting its beer production lines into water bottling operations. The company shipped 44,000 cases of water to the New York/New Jersey area, providing essential aid to those affected by the storm, all free of charge.

This wasn’t the first time Anheuser-Busch had taken such a measure. The company has been making this switch since the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, and by 2012, it had donated over 71 million cans of water to disaster-stricken communities since 1988.

"Personally, for me, it does mean a little bit more because I have family affected by it," said Scott Vail, Anheuser-Busch Plant Manager, who is originally from New Jersey. "It’s an opportunity to help."

Anheuser-Busch was not the only company to make a difference during Sandy. Victoria’s Secret lent their generators to the National Guard, and Hess delivered gasoline to rival stations in need.
