Fifty-three-year-old contractor employee Steven Webb of House Springs, Mo., died in an accident at the City of St. Charles’ Boschertown sanitary lift station, according to a report in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Webb worked for Coatings Unlimited of Bridgeton, a subcontractor doing work at the site. His body was found about 30 feet below ground. Fire officials told the newspaper that a monitor detected hazardous air in the lift station. The man apparently went into the lift station at about 11:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
