Throughout the years plant staff at South Dearborn Regional Sewer District have operated first a belt filter press, then a centrifuge, and lastly settled on the use of a screw press. Their anaerobically digested sludge presented a challenging dewatering situation for them. Bill Neyer has been at SDRSD through it all and notes that it has been quite a learning process. After installing Huber’s screw press in March 2015, the plant became more operationally efficient.
