Upgrades like turbo blowers by APG-Neuros, a new digester, chemical handling facility and aeration control have helped a team of six operators at the Carpinteria (California) Sanitary District Wastewater Treatment Plant run smoothly enough to win Small Plant of the Year in 2008 and 2016. Now, the facility is undergoing a project with its local water district. “We’re in a unique situation where we would treat the effluent, and then the water district would take the water and more than likely do groundwater injection for our water reclamation,” says Operations Manager Mark Bennett.
