HUBER Technology helped a meat processing facility resolve persistent, costly sludge dewatering challenges that were impacting daily operations, hauling expenses, and overall plant efficiency. The facility was struggling with inconsistent cake solids, excessive polymer consumption, high energy demand, and the ongoing burden of transporting large volumes of wet sludge offsite.

After evaluating the process and identifying key inefficiencies, HUBER recommended and installed the HUBER Q-PRESS 620.2 screw press to optimize the plant’s sludge dewatering performance. The implementation of this advanced screw press technology delivered immediate and measurable improvements across the operation.

The plant achieved over 80% sludge volume reduction, significantly decreasing hauling frequency and disposal costs. At the same time, the system produced higher dry solids, creating a drier, more manageable cake. The Q-PRESS design also reduced polymer usage and energy consumption, lowering operating expenses while improving reliability and ease of maintenance.

As a result, the facility now operates with a cleaner, more efficient, and more cost-effective dewatering process that supports both operational performance and environmental responsibility.
