Two water treatment plant workers in Wrentham, Massachusetts, were transported by medical helicopter to a hospital for injuries sustained in a chemical accident at the facility, according to The Sun Chronicle.
The employees were performing routine maintenance when a pressurized hose started to leak, spraying potassium hydroxide on them. One of the employees was hit in the face and eyes, causing serious injury, despite the fact that both employees were wearing protective eye equipment at the time of the incident.The employees’ injuries were described as not life threatening.
