After the completion of third-party validation testing under the National Water Research Institute (NWRI) guidelines, the TrojanUVSigna has received conditional acceptance from the California Water Board’s Division of Drinking Water Recycled Water Unit. The TrojanUVSigna is the first and only 1,000-watt low-pressure high-output-based UV system to obtain acceptance from the Recycled Water Unit, and meet the strict coliform and virus disinfection criteria found in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations for recycled waters.

In addition to microbiological performance testing, the TrojanUVSigna has also received third-party approval for lamp age testing and cleaning system effectiveness per NWRI guidelines.

The city of Jackson, California will be installing the TrojanUVSigna at its wastewater treatment plant in Amador County. It will be utilized to disinfect 4 million gallons of wastewater per day to stringent reuse limits, and will play an important role in improving the city’s wastewater effluent quality and ensuring effluent entering Jackson Creek and Lake Amador meets applicable standards.
