Endress+Hauser has introduced FMR10 and FMR20 free space radar level transmitters for measuring liquid levels. The devices are for measuring levels in storage tanks, open basins, open channels, weirs and canal systems.

The FMR10 measures liquid levels at ranges up to 16 feet with 0.2 inch accuracy, while the FMR20 measures levels up to 66 feet with 0.08 inch accuracy.

The FMR10 has a 4-20mA output and comes standard with Bluetooth for configuration. A SmartBlue app that runs on any Apple or Android smartphone or tablet communicates securely with the transmitter to configure or view envelope curves. The encrypted and password-protected Bluetooth wireless connection lets operators monitor the sensor’s output and perform configurations in hazardous or unsafe locations without exposing personnel to dangerous conditions.

The FMR20 has a 4-20mA HART smart output that allows for configuration from an optional remote display. It also offers the option of Bluetooth configuration.

Protection to IP66/68 / NEMA 4x, 6P, hermetically sealed wiring and fully potted electronics eliminate water ingress and allow operation under harsh environmental conditions. Both sensors are available with a flooding tube that allows a maximum output signal to be generated even if an overflow condition causes the sensor to be completely immersed.

The level sensors work in process temperatures of -40 to 176 degrees F (-40 to 80 degrees C) and process pressures of -14 to 43 psi (-1 to 3 bar). They are vibration resistant and have CSA/UL approvals.
