As an increasing number of water utilities deploy Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) systems, the American Water Works Association and Badger Meter are pairing up to provide a webinar to help utility professionals maximize AMR/AMI meter reading operations. The webinar, “Optimizing Meter Reading System Performance,” will take place on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. MST (12 p.m.-1:30 p.m. CST). Participants can register for the webinar at

“As industry pioneers who have been intimately involved in the development, manufacturing and deployment of AMR/AMI, we are pleased to share tips and information to help utilities better understand these systems and how to use them to increase productivity, improve customer service and conserve resources,” says Morrice Blackwell, marketing manager, AMI Networks at Badger Meter.

Three overall learning objectives will be explored during the webinar. First, the audience will find out how meter reading system performance impacts a utility’s ability to meet its business objectives — and why optimization is important. Next, attendees will learn techniques they can use to leverage their AMR/AMI meter reading data and operate their utilities more efficiently. Finally, attendees will review the basics of RF propagation and discover how to apply this knowledge to help overall performance of their AMR/AMI systems.

In addition to co-sponsoring this webinar with the AWWA, Badger Meter is the exclusive Platinum event sponsor for the AWWA Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE13) as well as the official sponsor of the 2013 Meter Madness Contest.
