The American Water Works Association presented its 2014 American Water Scholarship to Michael Rose, a doctoral student at Johns Hopkins University. The $5,000 annual scholarship is presented to a graduate level student to assist with the development of professionals interested in service to the water industry. Rose’s research focuses on iodine-containing disinfection byproducts that may be formed during treatment of hydraulic fracturing wastewater generated during natural gas drilling.
