To ensure lab safety and regulatory compliance, water and wastewater treatment operators need to accurately track and manage chemicals and hazardous materials on an ongoing basis. If you have a chemical inventory program in place, is it effective? Relying on Excel spreadsheets to track chemical usage and lifespan can be cumbersome and error-prone, but selecting chemical inventory management software can be complicated and time-consuming.

The BinCloud platform from BinMaster takes the complication out of that task. It is an integrated cloud foundation for data monitoring of inventory contained in bins, tanks and silos. It enables on-site and remote workers to work via the cloud. BinCloud serves as the backbone of the company’s BinView web application used to monitor solids, powders and liquids across all process industries, including municipal and industrial water and wastewater treatment. In essence, it is designed to track the inventory of regulated chemicals, ensuring those chemicals are used before their shelf life expires to reduce disposal costs, creating an automated audit trail of chemical usage.

BinCloud allows workers to securely access inventory data stored in the cloud. The hosted system is turnkey, and data is accessed by users from a phone, tablet or PC via the internet. It decreases dependency on local IT resources and eliminates the need for storing data and managing servers, as the BinView program hosted on BinCloud is updated and maintained by BinMaster. Use of the programs can be scaled up and down in size as needed.

Features include real-time monitoring, automated alerts via text or email, and historical reporting. They can be used at a single site or across multiple locations and accommodate hundreds of vessels.

BinView is compatible with noncontact radar, SmartBob, 3DLevelScanners, guided wave radar, ultrasonic, or laser level sensors with a 4-20mA, Modbus, or HART output. In addition to industrial wastewater treatment, it is suitable for any processing operation including plastics manufacturers, concrete and cement batch plants, feed mills, grain elevators, fertilizer and chemical plants, and biofuel production.

BinCloud offers “total transparency and fewer discrepancies, and more information leads to better decisions,” according to a company spokesperson. “It leads to time savings, as you spend less time on the phone and managing spreadsheets, make fewer trips to the control room, and less time doing routine or redundant tasks.” 800-478-4241;
