Periodic foaming in an aerated digester and a drop in dissolved oxygen were affecting the performance of the Montague Wastewater Treatment Facility in Three Rivers, Prince Edward Island. “We knew something was upsetting the biology, but not what it was because the digester returned to normal in a day or two,” says Tommy MacLeod, operator. “The situation was exacerbated by our dewatering problems.
