The Illinois City of Evanston is trying a social media event to help citizens understand what it takes to deliver clean water to their taps.
The Utilities Department will hold a Tap Water Tweet-Along from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Participants will get a virtual tour of the water treatment plant and learn about water preservation. They’ll also learn how much energy it takes to pump water to homes and get a step-by-step demonstration of the water treatment process, all via Twitter.
