Jimmy Sheridan, vice president of the Military Services Group of American Water Works Company, has received a Patriot Award from the New Jersey Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a mostly volunteer military support agency.
Sheridan was honored for his support of Glenn Battschinger, operations manager for the company’s Military Services Group. Battschinger, a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves, took a 15-month leave of absence from American Water in 2009 to serve as Civil Military Operations Center Officer in Charge for the Nangarhar Provincial Reconstruction Team during combat operations in Afghanistan.
