Combined Grit Washing and Dewatering System Provides Clean, Dry Grit, Reducing Odor and Disposal Costs

The Hydro GritCleanse fluidized bed grit washing and dewatering system from Hydro International removes 95% of all grit particles 75 micron and larger and outputs clean, dry grit with less than 5% volatile solids and over 90% dry solids. Organic content that is attached to grit particles causes big problems for wastewater treatment plants. It significantly increases the volume and weight of materials that need to be landfilled. This means you will be paying much more than you need to for handling, hauling and landfilling captured grit particles along with heavy, wet organic materials. Additionally, grit captured by a removal system is typically stored in open containers which increases odor issues at your plant.

When the Hydro GritCleanse is paired with an Advanced Grit Separation system like the HeadCell or Grit King you can now have high grit removal performance in a complete system with the added benefit of single supplier accountability. With this system, you’ll get total plant protection while significantly reducing unnecessary operating costs and unpleasant odor issues.
