Ralph "Rusty" Schroedel, a well-known personality among Midwest treatment plant operators, died May 28 at age 71 after a battle with cancer.
"Rusty was one of CSWEA's best and could always be counted on to attend many of our events," reads a statement from the association. "He was one of the most active CSWEA volunteers the association has ever seen and was a welcome face at our events. The list of positions he held is exhaustive. He was one of the best advocates for our industry. We lost a great member, and he is going to be very missed by many of us."
Schroedel was recognized nationally for his engineering expertise and has been actively involved in many professional organizations. He is a life member and past-president of the Wisconsin Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers and past-president of the CSWEA.
