The North East Biosolids & Residuals Association is seeking operator input for a survey as it leads a major national biosolids data project (NBDP) — an effort to compile biosolids data for a report being published this spring.

This is the second time this national survey has taken place in the United States. The first survey was published in 2007, reporting on data from 2004. The new survey will report on data from 2018.

“The results of this current survey will be published in spring 2021 and will benefit all stakeholders in the management of wastewater and biosolids in the U.S.,” reads the survey introduction. “Your input is vital to advancing nationwide understanding for the whole profession. Everyone is pitching in, for the benefit of all.”

Those participating will need their 2018 EPA Part 503 Sludge Report (which was filed in February 2019) and/or their 2018 report to your state.

The survey requests data about sewage sludge and biosolids from public and private wastewater treatment plants treating domestic sewage who used or disposed of sewage sludge/biosolids in 2018. The core survey has about 25 questions and should take about 30 minutes to complete.

Survey meetups

To facilitate the survey process, NEBRA is hosting survey meetups Tuesdays at noon (EST) and Wednesdays at 2 p.m. (EST) through March 17.

No registration is required for the meetups. Simply get your documents ready and join project leader Ned Beecher at this link to follow along at the appropriate time: https://join.me/nebiosolids. Attendees can use computer audio or dial in by phone.

As an extra thank-you, participants will be entered into a 1-in-50-chance raffle for a $75 gift card to a local coffee shop or eatery of your choice.
