The Chain & Rake Monster from JWC Environmental is a highly efficient, continuously raked bar screen for headworks, pump stations and storm overflows. It is designed to quickly remove heavy slugs of material to protect downstream processes, making the Chain & Rake Monster well-suited for when large concentrations of debris are expected, such as heavy storm flows.

Replaceable rake teeth are bolted to the rake support which is bolted to the chain on each side of the bar screen. The rakes pass through a bottom guide track, which avoids the necessity of sprockets and bearings in the sewage flow and increases unit longevity. Debris is removed from the rakes by a pivoted wiper with a UHMW blade.

The Chain & Rake Monster bar spacing is available from 1/4 inch and up. It can be designed to fit channel widths from 2 to 10 feet and depths up to 25 feet with a 5-foot maximum discharge height.
