WEFTEC Report: SonicSolutions Offers Ultrasound Algae Control Units

SonicSolutions presented the Mezzo-DB and Quattro0DB ultrasound algae control systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities at WEFTEC in Chicago. Both are designed to provide environmentally friendly and efficient control of algae and biofilm.

The Mezzo-B unit provides a 150-meter control range bidirectionally from the device, while the Quattro-DB provides 150 meters of range radially from the device. Both cover 17 acres.

Located just below the water surface, the device transducers generate sound waves at specific frequencies that kill algae and prevent biofilm growth. Ultrasound disables algae using critical structural resonance without causing harmful cavitation. Applications include lakes and reservoirs, wastewater treatment lagoons, clarifiers, UV chambers and water treatment sedimentation basins. Visit http://www.sonicsolutionsllc.com.
