Details: Subsidiary of Anaergia; facility will use proprietary technologies from the Anaergia group of companies to produce 1.6 MW of electricity
Status: Permits obtained from Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection
Completion: 2017

City of Hills
Project: New water treatment plant
Status: Complete; open house Sept. 13
Details: Community’s first municipal water treatment plant in its 109-year history; project included reverse osmosis water plant, water tower, installation lines and fire hydrants
Cost: $5.1 million

Maryland
City of Frederick
Project: Conversion of wastewater treatment facility from chlorine to UV disinfection, Sept. 2
Status: Contract awarded to Xylem, which will also supply training and service support
Completion: mid-2017

City of Greensboro
Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: First phase of the G2 Project; subsequent phases will involve pumping stations and conveyance pipes
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Aug. 27
Cost: $19 million
Completion: 2018 for entire project

Michigan
Bangor Township
Project: New Bay Area Water Treatment Plant
Details: Membrane filtration system; 17.4 mgd capacity
Status: Plant went online Aug. 31; landscaping, parking lot construction set for completion on Nov. 15.
Cost: $59.6 million

Grand Rapids
Project: Michigan Waste Water Treatment Plant energy efficiency program
Details: Project includes upgrades on air controls and HVAC efficiency as part of a broader sustainability program
Status: First phase complete

Missouri
City of Liberty
Project: New wastewater treatment facility, administration offices, laboratory, and maintenance facility
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Aug. 19
Cost: $95 million bond
Completion: 2017

City of Branson
Project: Collaborative biosolids drying facility at Branson Cooper Creek Wastewater Treatment Facility
Details: Produces Class A biosolids; partnership between Taney County, Branson, Forsyth, Hollister, Kimberling City, Reeds Spring and Rockaway Beach
Status: Open house, Sept. 24
Cost: $3 million

North Dakota
City of Fargo
Project: Expansion of water treatment plant
Details: Project includes a 65,000 square feet expansion, which will increase capacity from 30 mgd to 45 mgd; updates also include addition of membrane treatment technology
Status: In progress; earth cleared, pilings going in
Cost: $103.7 million
Completion: 2018

City of Minot
Project: Resiliency project to protect water treatment plant
Details: FEMA funded project; result of 2011 flooding, which put 100,000 residents under a boil notice; project includes 1,700 feet of concrete flood wall, a stormwater pump station, modifications to water treatment transmission pipeline and structures that will close the gap in a levee
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Sept. 3

Tennessee
City of Hartsville
Project: Wastewater treatment plant renovation and expansion
Details: Improved service for existing customers; plant will also serve the CCA Trousdale Tuner Correctional Facility
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Sept. 14
Cost: $6.1 million
Completion: 2016

City of Murfreesboro
Project: Expansion of Sinking Creek Plant
Details: Project will increase capacity from 16 mgd to 24 mgd
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Sept. 22
Cost: $30.5 million
Completion: 2018

Virginia
Bedford Regional Water Authority
Project: New water treatment plant
Details: 3 mgd initial capacity; water will be pumped from Smith Mountain Lake, treated and then delivered via pipeline to Bedford and Forest
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Sept. 8
Cost: $35 million (total project including pipelines)
Completion: April 2017

Wisconsin
City of Green Bay
Project: Resource Recovery and Electrical Energy (R2E2) plant
Details: New facility will replace NEW Water’s solids handling facility and will feature a nutrient recovery process to create commercial fertilizer
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Aug. 25
Cost: $169 million
Completion: August 2018
