Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: First-ever plant for the town. Funded mainly by USDA grants. Project includes 20,000 linear feet of sewer main and 57 sewer connections.

Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, Aug. 12

City of Dixon
Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: Construction has started, concrete flooring poured mid-August
Cost: $28.5 million
Completion: December 2016
Contractors: Stantec Consulting

City of Escondido
Project: Power purchase agreement, construction of cogeneration facility
Details: Agreement allows the wastewater treatment plant to turn waste biogas into renewable energy. The city has committed to purchasing at least 8,146 MWh per year for $0.129 per kWh.
Status: Signing ceremony, Aug. 17
Partner: Anaergia

Illinois
City of Murphysboro
Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: Upgrade from 3 mgd to 7 mgd capacity
Cost: $15 million
Status: Groundbreaking ceremony, July 30
Completion: 12 to 14 months
Contractor: River City Construction

Kentucky
City of Vanceburg
Project: Upgrades to existing plant
Details: Repair clarifiers, upgrade blowers, add a drying bed
Cost: $665,000
Status: In progress
Contractor: HMB Engineering of Frankfort

Maryland
City of Rising Sun
Project: New orbal ditch wastewater treatment plant
Details: Construction began April 2012 to increase town’s capacity.
Cost: $14 million
Status: Plant officially opened Aug. 21.
Contractor: Wickersham Construction, CDM Smith, Miller Environmental

Missouri
City of Perryville
Project: New drinking water treatment plant
Status: Selected Neptune Bensons ETS-UV Disinfection System
Contractor: Crawford Murphy & Tilly Consulting Engineers, Inc.

Nebraska
City of Grand Island
Project: Upgrades to existing plant
Details: Capacity increase from 40 mgd to 50 mgd. New pump station, bar screen, grit removal system and electrical building.
Status: Ribbon-cutting ceremony
Cost: $20 million
Contractors: Garney Co. and Black and Veatch

Ohio
City of Geneva-on-the-Lake
Project: New wastewater treatment plant
Details: Complete renovation of old building, plus new headworks building, chemical building and service garage. Project will also include renovation of receiving station.
Cost: $7.3 million
Status: Secured bond, selected contractor
Completion: July 2017
Contractor: Union Industrial Contractors of Ashtabula

Wisconsin
City of Reeseville
Project: Renovations and upgrades to wastewater treatment plant
Details: Collaborative development with Specialty Cheese Company to expand treatment capacity.
Status: Complete. Open house and community celebration held.
