Editor's Note: Innovation was a big theme at WEFTEC 2014. We'll be featuring a few of the new and better technologies found in the exhibit hall at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Watch each day for the Innovation logo to learn more about new products displayed at the clean-water industry’s flagship exhibition and conference.

Fibrelite displayed corrosion-resistant fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) manhole and access covers for use in streets as well as in treatment plants. The company cited injuries that can result from lifting and handling cast-iron and concrete covers. The lighter FRP covers are easier to handle and install. Designs include one or two lifting points for specially designed lifting handles, letting operators remove covers without trapping their fingers or bending over and risking back injury.
