Editor's Note: Innovation was a big theme at WEFTEC 2014. We'll be featuring a few of the new and better technologies found in the exhibit hall at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. Watch each day for the Innovation logo to learn more about new products displayed at the clean-water industry’s flagship exhibition and conference.

Ovivo displayed the Bongo Series of single- and double-aperture influent fine screens, well suited for pre-membrane screening in wastewater treatment plants. Influent enters the center of the drum and flows through screening panels that remove large debris. In dual-aperture applications, the wastewater then flows through a second-stage mesh from the outside into the center of the drum.

Grit can be removed from the side or pumped out of the tank. Headloss is typically below 6 inches. The dual-aperture design can be used for water intakes. The screens offer a small footprint, high capture efficiency, and low capital and operating costs.
